The Contraflow Group is no longer accepting applications for the 2024 academic year. If you would like to join the group in 2025, you can apply through the Maxwell Institute Graduate School (MIGS) through the MIGS General Programme: please contact me directly if you would like to discuss a project. Other opportunities are available through the Commonwealth Scholarship (deadline: usually October) and James Watt Scholarships (deadline: usually June).
Applicants must have a UK first-class honours degree, or its international equivalent, in an appropriate subject; or a UK 2:1 honours degree plus a UK Master’s degree, or their international equivalents; or relevant qualifications and experience.
All applicants to the University will be asked to demonstrate a level of English language competency, regardless of their nationality or country of residence. We accept a wide range of international English qualifications and English language tests. We accept an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, including a one year Master’s degree, that has been taught and assessed in English in a majority English speaking country (as defined by UK Visas & Immigration), for entry to the University. Degrees taught and assessed in English must be no more than three and a half years old at the beginning of your degree programme. For more detailed information, please see the English language entry requirement page.
